Before I get into the usual market commentary, I’d like to make a quick announcement:
As some of you already know, today will be my last day writing the morning comments for NTG. It’s a bittersweet moment for me, as I’ve had the privilege of writing the commentary for the past 18 months.
Looking back on my time at NTG, I feel nothing but deep gratitude and appreciation for the incredible responsibility and opportunity I was given. I’m truly humbled by how much I’ve learned and grown in this role.
I recently went back and read some of my early editions, and let’s just say, they had a lot of room for improvement! While I know I still have a long way to go on the path to becoming a market “expert,” I can honestly say this experience has been immensely rewarding. I’d like to personally thank everyone who read the commentary, asked questions, provided feedback, and supported my growth along the way. Your engagement and support meant more than you probably realize. In addition, I would like to extend a special thank you to Brian Leith for giving me the opportunity and latitude to serve in this role.
Moving forward, the commentary will follow a “by committee” approach for the next 30–60 days. Starting Monday, different members of the NTG team will be stepping up to contribute and ensure the commentary continues without interruption. After that transition period, Zach Davis will be taking over as the primary NTG research analyst and will assume full responsibility for writing the morning comments. Zach is a sharp and capable individual, and I have no doubt he’ll excel in the role.
In case you’re wondering, I’ll be joining the LaSalle Group as an analyst, where I’ll continue researching and writing about these markets. I hope to stay in touch, and if you ever want to connect or talk markets, feel free to reach out; both my personal and work email addresses are listed below:
- Personal: evanbasse@gmail.com
- Work: ebasse@lasallegroupllc.com
Many thanks!
Short note today. In today’s comments:

Have a great day.
